There are many ways to meditate. Do whatever works best for you, leave the rest.

You can meditate in any moment of your life. Meditation is an open free flowing practice that works best when you pay attention to what allows you to be in a state of openness.

It’s simply bringing awareness to where you are.

Take advantage of this space and moment while you are here now. Take this moment to tune in & see what your body needs. Get as comfortable being here and move into the next moment feeling grounded, confident in better understanding your needs, and with a deeper sense of inner peace.

Set your intention. What is your intention for this moment or for the rest of your day? It can be to simply be open to experience, to embody a state of compassion, to carry a mindful mindset throughout your day, or even simply one word: ease. Say it in your mind, quietly, or out loud.

Take a deep and audible exhale. Release whatever you’re holding onto that doesn’t serve you.

Gently notice the feeling of the body breathing.

Breathing in, I calm my body and mind.
Breathing out, I smile.
Dwelling in the present moment, I know this is the only moment.

Take a few long breaths.

Inviting yourself to feel the sensation of the in-breath and the sensation of the out-breath.

If you get distracted, simply return to this feeling of the body breathing and being supported.

You will get lost in thought. That’s normal & expected. There’s no problem, just a part of the practice. When you notice your mind wandering, that’s an opportunity to gently return your attention to right now.

Do you feel differently than how you felt at the beginning of this practice?

Developing awareness of the ins and outs of your breath is a simple, powerful, and a useful skill that stays with us through these unfolding moments that carry us to our ends. Along the way, we get better at staying with our breath, allowing us to be in a state of peace and equilibrium.

Come back to this practice.
