Understanding & Transforming Self-Criticism
Originally Published: July 2023 The Dalai Lama describes compassion as "wise selfishness." It's the counterintuitive truth that one of the most effective ways to be happier is to think of someone other than yourself. My meditation practice has been my superpower/life-saver as of late. It’s even more vital as I’m in the phase of my life of prioritizing productivity, meaningful work, and time. This can come with a tall side-order of toxic and useless thoughts. My personal favor


Grounding, ongoing
You lay on the floor and breathe. Hands rest on heart, stomach. The body breathes. Space doesn’t exist. Fear and joy melt. The clock in a drawer. Breath brings oneness and nothing. Oranges. Stretching, contracting. Melody in the waves. Puppy naps. Coffee for the birds. A field of wild flowers. Notes to past & future. Wardrobe, space, empty. Breath brings oneness and nothing. Nurturing nature. Warm, cold oceans. Self-Love. Cry. Bare ground swallows. Give up—is it freeing? You


On meditation; it lives in this breath
There are many ways to meditate. Do whatever works best for you, leave the rest. You can meditate in any moment of your life. Meditation is an open free flowing practice that works best when you pay attention to what allows you to be in a state of openness. It’s simply bringing awareness to where you are. Take advantage of this space and moment while you are here now. Take this moment to tune in & see what your body needs. Get as comfortable being here and move into the next
